We’re recruiting! Shout out for Learning & Participation professionals

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team. We are looking to recruit a dynamic Learning & Participation Officer to lead, develop and shape our Learning & Participation strand.

Since inception in 2007, Learning & Participation has been an integral part of what we do at Chameleon. We lead classes and workshops in tandem with the national and international touring programme, and as a result, we’ve introduced thousands of people from countries all over the world, to a different side of dance and movement.

From beginners’ creative sessions in schools to advanced level company classes at universities, the Company offers a wide range of dance development opportunities every year.

Over the past 12 months, we’ve particularly pushed the boundaries in developing the Learning & Participation strand of our work, we have:

  • Explored dance and movement with over 4000 young people
  • Presented our first ever professional intensive at HOME in Manchester for dancer artists from all over the world
  • Launched Chameleon Youth, our youth dance theatre company based at Manchester Central Library. First year highlights include performing at U Dance North West, Manchester Day and alongside the professional company at The Lowry
  • Launched our biggest ever dance in schools’ project in partnership with The Co-operative Academies Trust, working across three schools to explore mental health through dance and movement
  • Partnered with 42nd Street to develop a dance workshop, which then toured venues and schools across the UK alongside our latest new production Witness
  • Work-shopped with patients in a mental health unit at a Derby hospital in partnership with Déda
  • Delivered Arts Award to over 20 young dance artists
  • Worked in partnership with Dance Manchester to engage young men through dance in our annual project, STRIDE

So, if you’re as passionate about dance development as we are, and you’d relish the opportunity to pick up these successes, make them your own and develop them further, then find out more in the application downloads below.

Deadline for applications is 1pm on Wednesday 12 July 2017.

Thanks for your interest.
